Confident about Cardiff´s Cup chances

It´s been a good Christmas for Cardiff City and if you´d offered us 10 points from four matches at the start of December we´d have taken that. We´ve put ourselves into a great position and everyone feels this could be a big season for the club.

We´ve got a Premiership manager, Premiership coaches, a Premiership set-up and now we just need to get there. I think there´s a lot of expectation from the fans that this is our time.

It was disappointing that Wayne Routledge decided that his future is not at Cardiff. He´s a great footballer and was doing a great job here. When you lose a quality player it´s never good, especially when you´re a forward and you lose someone like Wayne who´s been supporting you in attack. But that´s football and you have to respect his decision. He has to decide what´s going to be best for him and he believed that was QPR.

Everyone around us will be strengthening their squads in January and it´s important we try to do the same. We need more bodies because you never know what will happen later in the season. We have a great squad and everyone who´s come in has done a fantastic job. The team´s playing really well at the moment and everybody just wants to be out on the pitch.

We´ve got Reading in the FA Cup today and it´s funny that we´ve been drawn against one of our main rivals for promotion. We´ve played them twice this season and drawn both games, but something has got to give in the cup. Both games have been tough and very close. We just want to win every game that we play in and this is no different. We´re unbeaten in eight now and the longer that run goes the more momentum you have. We want to do as well in the cup as possible. The cup run last year is something that everyone wants to repeat and it gave everyone the belief that you didn´t have to be Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal to win the cup.
