McPhail is Cardiff´s unsung hero

I´ve been at Cardiff a few months now and, I know it´s a cliché, but it´s hard to pick out just one player who has impressed me, because everyone has. Ross has done well – he´s scored quite a few goals now and he settled into the side in no time at all. Stephen McPhail is a really consistent player too, in fact he is our unsung hero.

Stephen does a really important job for the team and maybe he doesn’t get noticed as much as he should by the general public but he does an amazing job every time we play. Then there´s Mark Kennedy, he´s been doing really well. He has pace, can go forward and not many people get round him either. But overall our squad here is really strong and everyone is impressing me.

As for the big personalities, I´d have to say the same thing – everyone weighs in with a bit of banter. Mark Kennedy and Roger Johnson are probably the main jokers but everyone has got a bit in their locker. If we´ve lost a game it´s not all doom and gloom on the training ground the next day because everyone will make jokes and lift the spirits. Don’t get me wrong, we take our games really seriously but the light-hearted nature of the lads and the squad togetherness creates a great atmosphere which helps both on and off the pitch.
